Burning man Narrative

The Story of Solomon.

Hundreds of years ago, there was a tribe of people. these certain people were in equal and savage compared to the rest of the men that ruled the earth. these men were different because they possessed the ability to become one with the earth. during the spring each year, they would arise from the ground, the same ground where they laid to rest the winter before. during this period of time, they would slumber beneath the land. these men were giants, as tall as the highest mountain in all of the land. they looked like the remains of a charred tree in the forest. these men would rise from the grave each year, rejuvenated, and ready to posses the land that was theirs. when they would arise, the land would tremble, and crack with hoards of ember. these people were few in numbers, and had an irksome rivalry with the human race. the humans always feared these people, because of their appearance. the humans would start wars with the tree people, but in the end, the humans would fall with defeat, but their numbers were to great, and the tree people would eventually be out numbered.
every generation of tree people, there is a new leader elected, who would lead for a hundred years. in this lifetime the new leader was called Solomon. Solomon was the most vicious, savage, but the one with the most heart. he had the ability to love, and lead his people, in a way that was never possible before. Solomon and his people lived in the desert for all of their lives, what now is known as Nevada.because of the overpopulation of humans, the tribe must stay hidden from view. they still live on to this day, waiting for the humans to meet their demise, when they can arise and reclaim the land that is rightfully theirs. their numbers have diminished greatly, but Solomon and his small tribe, stay in their home. although the tree people are savage, they posses something in their nature that the humans do not. they do not wage was among their own kind. although they are unequal, they consider themselves, and all creatures of the earth to be equals.

Post 12

I plan on using my building as a frame for all the elements and surrounding presences that effect the area. i also plan on using glass to encorperate this. so all the colors will exist along with one another. naturally. i plan on the building being illuminated with natural light, and having shadows contrast across the scape of the building. the interior will also have a variety of textures. i think that texture makes a room, and it is neccisairy to use them for creating shadows and contrasts onto the wall. floor and celing. but i want to also make it natural and let all the materials exist hand in hand with the building

Looking back on all the work and what i did, i am fairly happy with all the work i have done. i had trouble getting all of my plans in order. overall i think i can communicate my ideas into my designs. for my overall bubble plans, i think i had a wide variety of plans, each individual, but at the same time, the same. for one of my plans, i did not have an idea but as i went along, i figured out what my general plan would look like, and i was happy with it. it was hard for me to think of ideas. but i find when i sketch, it helps me determine what my thought process will be.

Goals, Post 10

planning the space for everything will not be easy. the bubble diagram is meant for us to be able to get a feel for how our space will fit onto the property. i think that i will be able to fit everything ontot he property, if everything isd too big, then i will have to make some parts smaller than the others, or take out certain spaces.i would like to have several galleries, but they are not the focus of my memorial, i want the building to represent and feel like something amazing. i think i can fit all of my concepts into one building, i think it will be difficult, but in the end i can plan the spaces and figure out where everything will go, how everything will look and everything else.

Post 9 REFLECTION

Presentation reflections. For my presentation i talked about my plans and knowledge of my memorial for the architect Frank lloyd Wright. i studied examples of his architecture to better understand how i could encorperate his designs and style into my memorial of him. for my presentation i created a floorplan of a "frank lloyd wright-esque house" i combined several of frank lloyd wrights houses. i am very proud of my drawing because i felt like iw as on a role drawing it and i made several connections betweent frank lloyd wrights architecture and my own. i had several problems, i was gone for the entire winter break, and the week before i left, when i intented on working on it, the whole week of snow cancelled school. and i couldnt drive when i was intending on driving to the store to buy the materials to create my project for class.

Frank Lloyd Wright narrative

I decided I would clear my head and try and process why this exact site was picked. I thought that I would explore the town and find the culture and the history. How I could do that in just one visit, I am unsure. The streets on the main road are freshly paved. This does not interest me. I look for the street with the most history. The street with the worn road. The street with the oldest houses. When I look for history, most people look for words, or documents, pictures. I look for signs of history in architecture. The houses I look at, with the room with the shingle missing from the roof, or the brick pathway that is settling into the ground. That is history to me.
